Surrender & Free Will: What does it mean to "Surrender to God"? | Spirituality + Prayer

Hey Capacity Fam,

Today I'm going to be making a puzzling & profound spiritual concept really simple.

Actually, the concept is simple, but the MINDSET we so often hold around it - is what makes it so hard for people to actually do.

With this post, I'm making the spiritual - practical. So you can go DO it for yourself.

I'm going to keep this short (as I can), yet break it down at the same time. So keep reading.

If after reading, you want to go deeper, then follow me on my Youtube and Instagram where you can join me in daily discussions - I'll be sure to provide all the depth you need if you simply head over to my social media and ask :)

Now, here we go...

Surrender has almost everything to do with free will.

We all know we have free will, but we don't often conclude what this means regarding our spiritual nature as human beings.

Free will isn't just doing what you want in the context of living in an organized society where slavery is mostly illegal.

It has A LOT to do with your citizenship as a human being on Earth, in relation to the power of God, and the powers that God gave to us.

Our Most High Creator - God- gave us power, purpose and promises.

Free will is a promise and a power.

The ability to walk in purpose, pursue work, and have control over things (power) as humans on Earth - this is the purpose and power called "dominion", which God gave us.

So when we want certain supernatural things to happen in our lives - things we don't have the capacity to do in our natural abilities as humans - what do we do?

Yes, anything is possible - but it's not always possible through our own human means.

Here's what we have to do.

Make a request for these things from God - yes, pray.

This is one simple definition of a prayer.

An answered prayer, a miracle - that's as close as it gets to legitimate magic. But it's not magic. It's God. - Dorothy Marie

Once we pray for our request, we have to permit it to be done here in the Earth.

God is all powerful, but He gave us rights, He promised us that.

Giving God permission, kind of sounds wrong doesn't it ?!

But, It's not.

God is orderly. God values order. So He created the procedures by which the supernatural happens on Earth through and for people, but not by people.

Surrender is that permission, from US to God.

It's saying to God, that we allow Him to take control of our earthly lives, assume power and put our free will on hold - so that He can do something supernatural on our behalf, and for our greatest good...

and aligned with our prayer request - so long as it is within His will.

Surrendering our day to the will of God is really the ONLY way that God can actually come into our lives and supernaturally direct us on the most optimal path on a day-by-day basis.

God gave humans free will and dominion over the earth, that's what His word says, therefore it is absolutely true and cannot be made a lie.

If God went against that, by overpowering your will as a human being and controlling your day without your permission, that would be a violation of His word. God cannot violate his word.

So if you truly want to be able to trust the course of your day, start your day with prayer & surrender.

The Model Prayer is a great prayer for this very thing.

Mathew 6: 9-13.
After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.
Amen.

"Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

---This is the part where you allow God to direct & control your day.

This is giving God permission to allow His will VS your WILLPOWER, something we so often do when we are trying to accomplish things and manifest.

Surrendering to God, it takes trust, but He promises us GOOD, not harm (Jeremiah 29:11).

Now, in conclusion...

Surrender is a powerful part of succeeding and prospering in true alignment with God, and for the best of ourselves, and all of humanity.

Personally, surrender has been transforming my days & weeks - accelerating my progress.

There have been tears - heaving and waterfalls.

But, believe me friends, crying tears of surrender at the feet of God beats tears and years of stress.

Surrendering to God. It is simple, but it isn't easy.

This is something I just had to share, and I'm truly praying it blesses you.

Stay aligned and in tune,
